Surprise … Kendrick Lamar has just released an album.
The album titled Untitled Unmastered hit Apple Music at 11pm. Fans got the heads up when the cover art landed on Spotify but the stream wasn’t yet available.
Prior to that, on Monday (Feb 29), TDE founder and CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith gave fans a glimpse of the label’s 2016 release schedule on Instagram. Next to Kendrick’s name was a question mark.
“Shit about to get nasty real soon,” Top Dawg captioned the schedule. “I told y’all I got y’all in 2016 #TDE.”
It seems that untitled unmastered may be made up of tracks that didn’t make his last album, To Pimp a Butterfly.
After witnessing Kendrick’s performance at the Grammys, during which he performed one of those “Untitled” tracks in question, Tiffith was contacted by none other than LeBron James — “you have to release those untitled tracks asap,” begged the baller on Twitter. And it seems that TDE has gone ahead and made good on LeBron’s request.
