According to published reports, it sounds like 18-year-old Kylie Jenner is getting with the winning team … Puma!
Despite Kanye West’s opposition, sneakers website Nice Kicks confirmed the deal on Monday (Feb 15) following up on an Us Weekly report last week that Jenner was given $1 million for the collaboration. Kanye reacted to that unconfirmed report with fury, tweeting that his sister-in-law would never betray him that way.
Of course Puma is a direct competitor to Adidas, which has backed West’s Yeezy fashion collection.
“1000% there will never be a Kylie Puma anything,” he posted on Feb. 9 during one of his many recent rants. “That’s on my family! 1000% Kylie is on Yeezy team!!!”
He also added, “Puma we gone give you your measly million dollars back!!! Never try to divide the family!!!”
Nice Kicks also reports that King Kylie has already modeled Pumas in photoshoots. The website describes her role as a “brand advocate” supporting specific Puma products through campaigns and her social media outlets. This role would be a little different than Rihanna’s partnership with the company.
Rihanna, who partnered with PUMA in December of 2014, signed on as global ambassador, exclusively wearing PUMA collaborations from her #FENTY label.
