After his unconventional Yeezy Season 3 fashion show and album listening show on Thursday (Feb 11), fans were eager to get their hands on his new album – The Life of Pablo. The next day, Ye assured fans that after mixing, the album would be available before the end of day. However that time has been extended.
Ye took to Twitter in the wee hours of Saturday morning to blame Chance The Rapper for the pushed back release.
“It’s Chance’s fault the album not out yet… he really wanted Waves on that Bitch… we in the lab now…” he writes.
The song “Waves” was on the tracklist that West posted when the album was titled SWISH.
Chance The Rapper responded and admitted to putting a hold on The Life of Pablo’s release.
“I fought everyone to keep Waves on the album,” he writes. “I spent all night finishing it. The world is better because of it.”
Chance currently appears on “Ultra Light Beams,” which is the opening track of the version of The Life of Pablo that West played at the Yeezy Season 3 event at Madison Square Garden.
Now – based on a screenshot of the tracklisting that Chance shared – there are seventeen tracks appearing on TLOP.
