Chris Brown’s December tour in Australia and New Zealand has been canceled.
So you may recall that in September, the Australian government warned it had plans to formally deny Brown’s visa because of his criminal conviction for assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009 – an allegation Chris publicly denied.
Well it looks like a visa denial may be more of a real possibility. So real that instead of taking a chance on a denial, Chris and promoters have decided to cancel the stops.
A statement from Brown’s Australian One Hell of a Night tour promoter, issued Tuesday, confirmed Australian shows in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane on Dec. 9-16 will not take place.
“Mr Brown and the promoters both remain positive that the tour will take place in the near future,” the promoter’s statement read. “Mr Brown wishes to express his deepest gratitude to the fans for their support and looks forward to a successful tour in the near future.”
