Days after Ronda Rousey experienced a harsh defeat, it didn’t take 50 Cent long before he joined in on the cyber bulling. Jokingly, he said he was acting of Floyd’s behalf, but today (Nov 17) Floyd has spoken up to set the record straight.
Floyd Mayweather is surprisingly embracing Ronda Rousey. Giving his first commentary on the break in her undefeated streak, Mayweather simply replied, “you win some and you lose some.” In another interview regarding the MMA upset, Mayweather clarifies that he did not tell 50 Cent to post that Rousey meme on the night following UFC 193.
“That’s not true at all. I haven’t really spoke to anyone about the Ronda Rousey situation, just to set the record straight,” he told Fight Hype. “I don’t think it’s cool how everyone is trolling her on social media. Certain things you have to learn. People will love you on Friday and then Sunday morning, it’s nothing but negative comments and people making jokes and people making fun about you, which I don’t think is cool.”
Mayweather even went as far as offering to help Rousey with her fighting technique. Advising her to take the time off to train and come back a stronger force, Mayweather gave his perspective as a former fighter and current promoter, remarking that he would choose to hold off on a rematch between Holm and Rousey in order to let the anticipation build.
“I want Ronda Rousey to hold her head up high and don’t let this discourage you. If you need help as far as with boxing, I’m here to help you,” Mayweather said.
