Following his arrest for child support shortly after receiving the “I Am Hip-Hop” Honor at the 2015 BET Hip Hop Awards, Scarface has released a statement.
Face was arrested in Atlanta on Oct 9 and held on a $482,190 bond at the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta, Georgia. He was later released this past Friday, Oct. 16, the Atlanta- Journal Constitution reports.
“While we have resolved the issue, I would like to correct some misinformation,” he continued. “The amount reported that was owed is inaccurate, and I had no knowledge about there being an arrest order for me as I have traveled to Atlanta many times; with the latest trip being in September to perform at the One Music Festival.” He lastly stated that he would not comment on the case any further considering his son, Brad, is still a minor.
According to an attorney for the child’s mother to whom the debt was owed, the release was granted based on an agreement to pay “a good portion” of the payment. After she received a “lump sum,” Scarface was released. The former Geto Boys member said in a statement Tuesday (Oct. 20) that the charges were “resolved” and also thanked fans for their support.
