It’s hard to believe this week marks the ten-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. In memory of that milestone, Lil Wayne will donate portions of proceeds from his Lil WeezyAna Fest to Tha Carter Fund.
It’s not the first time Weezy has rolled up his sleeves. When Katrina hit in ’05, Weezy raised money and donated to relief efforts and later rebuilt a skatepark in the city. Tha Carter Fund supports after school programs set up for underprivileged kids.
The festival will take place this Friday (Aug. 28) at Bold Sphere Music at Champions Square in New Orleans. The one-day only event will feature a confirmed Hot Boys reunion as Juvenile, Turk and Mannie Fresh will join the Wayne on stage. If you can’t make it, don’t fret. The concert will be streaming on TIDAL.
