Rihanna will join the upcoming ninth season of “The Voice” as a “key adviser” to the judges, a role previously filled by Taylor Swift, Nate Reuss and Chris Martin.
“We landed Rihanna to be the key advisor to all the coaches this fall,” NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt said. “This is one of music’s true supervisors coming on board to influence the lives and careers of the performers.”
Rihanna will be a multi-team advisor, working closely with all four judges: Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton, Pharrell Williams, and Adam Levine, whom Rih Rih previously collaborated with for Maroon 5’s “If I Never See Your Face Again.”
In addition to Rihanna, “The Voice” has also recruited Missy Elliott, Selena Gomez, John Fogerty and Brad Paisley to individually mentor teams during the show’s Battle Rounds.
My two-cents: Congrats to her. I see she’s making moves to broaden her audience.
