Fans will have to wait to see Janet Jackson perform in concert, but for good reason.
The singer has postponed production on her highly-anticipated “Unbreakable” tour to be by Joe Jackson’s side who suffered a stroke on his 87th birthday on July 25. Reports indicate the “No Sleep” singer flew by private jet to see her father and doesn’t plan to resume rehearsals for the world tour until he’s stable.
Following Joe’s stroke, he took to his website to inform fans that he is expected to make a swift recovery.
“To my family, friends, acquaintances and fans all over the world. I want to thank you all for your prayers, unwavering support and kind well wishes during these trying times,” Joe shared on Monday, July 27. “Through God’s intervention the wonderful Doctors, Nurses and caretakers at the Albert Einstein Sao Paulo hospital have taken great care of me. God willing, I should be able to make a quick recovery and travel back home soon. Thank you all once again for your prayers and support.”
Janet, who just released the visuals for her new “No Sleeep” single, originally planned to kick off her tour August 31st in Vancouver.
Best wishes to Joe Jackson on a speedy recovery.
