You may not know her by name, but she’s homies with Pharrell, A$AP Rocky, A$AP Ferg and Rihanna. And who could forget those brows? Yep, you’ve seen her.
Over the past couple of years, Cara has been a supermodel to be reckoned with. But, did we know Cara was considering leaving the modeling industry to pursue a career in acting – what she describes as her true passion.
In an interview with WSJ which hits newsstands on May 30, Cara speaks super candidly about the modeling industry and why she wants to part ways.
“It’s horrible living in a world where I’ll get a call from someone saying, ‘So-and-so says you were partying a lot and you were looking this way and you need to lose weight,'” she said, talking about the fashion industry. “It makes me so angry. If you don’t want to hire me, don’t hire me.”
“With acting, the last thing you do is try to look pretty,” Cara told WSJ. “Modeling actually makes acting harder—it makes you so self-aware.”
“When I was modeling, all I was thinking about was that moment, that day, the next hour,” she told WSJ.. “When I started chilling out and learning to say no, I realized that there was a future and I could do more stuff.”
In just a short window, Cara has recently filmed several filmms, including Pan, a new Peter Pan adaptation that sees her playing a mermaid, and the mystery romance Paper Towns, in which she plays a major character, Margo Roth Spiegelman, a girl who’s gone missing.
