Despite rumors of not returning, Season 2 of Empire will go down.
And why wouldn’t it. The finale brought in nearly 17.6 million viewers, a remarkable growth from its 9.9 million debut, securing that the series was nothing short of a smash hit.
On Monday, during Fox’s annual Upfront presentation to advertisers, the network revealed that Ne-Yo, Chris Rock, Lenny Kravitz and Alicia Keys will be guest starring in the upcoming season. In addition, news broke that Empire will be spilt into two parts during season two, with the first half kicking off in the fall, and the second half returning in spring 2016. The episode count will also increase, jumping from 12 to 18 episodes for 2015.
