After failing to respond to rapper Turk’s February lawsuit in which he claims he is owed in excess of $1 million from Cash Money, he has now filed a default against the company in hopes that a judge will rule in his favor because of the no-show.
As previously reported, Turk was suing the label for a total of $1.3 million in damages. He’s also wants all rights to his music.
The label was given three weeks to respond to the suit, and asked for an extension in March. An extension was granted until April 11. According to the recent default, Cash Money again failed to meet the new date prompting Turk’s council to take further action. Patrick Costello, the rapper’s lawyer, filed a default motion with the U.S. District Court Eastern District of Louisiana, April 29. If Cash Money refuses to answer to the claim, a judge could rule in Turk’s favor without the matter going to court.
