Not that I didn’t want to see it before, but this trailer does the movie far more justice than the previous footage.
The coming of age movie stars Zoë Kravitz, Chanel Iman, Quincy Jones, and A$AP Rocky. During the premiere at the Sundance Festival, the movie set off a bidding war. According to published reports, they scored a $7 million dollar deal and negotiating a $20 million dollar marketing commitment. The film garnered one of the biggest deals at Sundance so far.
Set in the post-hip hop, gang-infested neighborhood of Inglewood, Calif., Dope tackles the story of a high school geek (Shameik Moore) trying to get into Harvard while dodging drug dealers and other obstacles.
