Are we surprised that Lil Tunechi would have an issue with Thugger putting out a product that infringed on his brand?
Back in March, Thugger confirmed the title of his upcoming album would be titled Tha Carter Six, named after his idol Lil’ Wayne. Earlier this month, the Atlanta rapper announced Tha Carter VI would arrive April 17, while revealing the cover where he appears to pose naked. Catching wind, Lil’ Wayne then spoke out during a recent club appearance, dissing Young Thug and letting the public know he isn’t a fan of Birdman’s new protege.
Fast forward to Monday night, Young Thug took to Instagram to announce he’s changing the title from Tha Carter Six to Tha Barter VI (a blood reference) because a lawsuit was threatened over the original title.
“Can’t name the mixtape Carter Six, cause these fu*k ass ni**as trying to sue…just like some hoes,” says Young Thug in the short video.
My two-cents: This Weezy, Birdman, Thugger triangle has gone on long enough.
